How to win a MEDAL in OLYMPICS?

Rio Olympics are over and after the end of a successful event, India has managed to receive very few of the medals despite having population of more 120 Cr. It was the first time when 100+ athletes has performed at Rio Olympics and India didn’t even cross the 2008 Olympics medal tally. But we have witnessed best performances from various athletes and they were promising. Today, in this post I would tell that how Indians can get more medals in OLYMPICS.

Step 1: First and the foremost is the thinking that should be changed. Few people support players and other are busy in making CAs, IITians and Doctors. So, one should let his/her child decide his/her interest.

Step 2: Make a committee of renowned sports personalities, who were or are associated with any sports. That person should not just know ABCD of the sports but EFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. They should not be from one game, make committee of different players of different games.

Step 3: India is having 29 states (Telengana, the new one). And government should ensure that there is at least one SPORTS COMPLEX available in all the states. And that SPORTS COMPLEX, should have fields and grounds of different games and most probably, most of the games that are played in OLYMPICS.

Step 4: Every year, selection trials should be done to select the players for the academies. And also provide training to the ones who are not selected.

Step 5: Selected players should get free of cost accommodation, food and sports attire. They should also get education. Though we have SAI (Sports Authority of India), where they select players on trial basis but the quality is not higher than what we see in private academies.

Step 6: Time to time, those players should be motivated and encouraged, so that if ever they feel like quitting, they can come back. Incentives should not be monetary always, non-monetary incentives can also do.

So, after following all these steps, obviously our country can improve and bring back medals for the country. This is absolutely my views, and there could be some more steps that we could add to the list. Let’s salute the efforts of the 2016 medal winners and hope that next time, India would stand on number 1 position on medal tally.
